Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

Re: Altmann Attraction DAC practicalities

I put the battery in a box which I bought in an oriental shop. It is very attractive. The DAC itself is a bigger problem. Although my 3 and 5 year old kids never touch "dad's toys", but I'd be worried if I had a cat. The DAC seems delicate enough that it could be damaged by cats walking over it, licking it, etc. (and of course the cats would fry, too, if they lick themselves a shortcut). You can hide it behind books, but I would find it a bit of a hassle to remove books everytime I want to switch it on and off. For dusting compressed air should be perfect.
Whatever solution, the sound is fantastic.
