marantz sticky transport help?

I have a marantz 67se and the transport is getting finicky. sometimes when a disc is loaded in the motor does not spin the disc or read table of contents. Ive taken off the top and can manually spin the disc to get it started and it will do ok for a while but if it sits for too long it doesnt want to spin. any hope I can clean something up or is time to send it off to the shop for repair? Thanks
