Re: An humble personal experience with the SRC2496.

thank you sincerely for your kind and, as always, extremely valuable reply.
Let me please explain myself better.
I was using (the SRC is in the closet at present) a very cheap Panasonic dvd player, model S47.
Even with this humble transport I perceived a more relaxed/natural sound with the clock set to external, i.e. using the clock of the Panasonic.
The "reclocked" option sounded more "electronic", IMHO of course.
As I understand you have at hand really good cd transports I feel you can confirm me that using the SRC without reclocking is indeed the most musical option.
Then the selection of a good transport should be my next task.
Another interesting experiment would be try using the XLR digital inputs for a better (?) digital transmission.
I think that a weak section of the SRC is the power supply.
It deserves better transformer and caps.
But this mod is difficult for the narrow smd pcb and it is a pity, because I feel that with just some Panasonic caps the bass would benefit.
