I use my PC with a USB s/pdif out, and before the DIP, the bass was kindof muddy and the highs were a bit harsh. This is with a non-os DAC. Once I connected the DIP, the difference made my jaw drop. I did not expect such a change. Bass was tight and defined and the mids and highs were clear but not harsh... very non fatiguing. This system sounds better than any CDP I have owned.I have a theory that if you have a non-oversampling DAC the dip is going to make a huge difference unless you already have an extremely good transport. I am certainly happy with it.
