Tubes in a DAC are not a guarantee for a tube-like sound...

... and vice versa. Some of the most tube sounding DACs are actually fully SS devices, such as Electrocompaniet ECD-1.

Lots of SET lovers use 47 Labs or Altmann Atraction DACs, all of them SS.

There are so much more important things in a DAC than an output buffer that it's actually irrelevant if it is tubed or not.
