You can use a budget CD player as a transport . . .but you cannot use a budget CD player as a GOOD transport. Once you hear a really good transport, then you will know what I mean.
Of course, that doesn't mean that you can't enjoy a really nice dac with a budget transport. It just won't be as good as it CAN be. (the DAC)
