Thanks tantra,I've had the previous generation Benchmark Dac1 and loved it. I read that the USB version is improved over the prior versions and I'm running strictly off my PC now (what I sold the DAC-1 intially to experiment with USB dacs and other dacs and players with digital inputs).
Now I'm coming back to the benchmark, this after spending a lot of time and money with some great dacs and CDP's over the past year...this will actually be the 5th component I've bought/sold at least twice, including the Marantz SA14, Musical Fidelity A3cr preamp, Minimax preamp and PS Audio HCA-2 amp! The really sad thing is I no longer own any of those pieces either! Hope I lean the lesson to be learned here, someday :)
