I've owned both V1 and V2. I don't recall a V2 label on the back but there was a big V2 label on the box. The remote control for the V2 is different -- has a round navigator pad in the middle, while the V1 remote has discrete tiny buttons. The remote sensor on the faceplate of the V2 is slightly bigger than on the V1 -- about 1/4 inch diameter on the V2, as opposed to about 1/8 inch diameter on the V1.
