Solid state dampening...

Solid state amplification CAN be microphonic... meaning vibrations can and do effect the signal, it can be seen on a 'scope.

Take a typical modern solid state video camera, whack it with your hand and you see the video signal get a little garbled... that same stuff happens to your sound, but on a little different scale, but it does.

Transformers, inductors, capacitors, they all can be affected by vibrations.
