Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

I think you seek to break new ground by going DIY

DIY amplification has been around for decades and there are thousands of sources for building your own. It is also relatively easy to pull off especially with tubes.

Digital is another story. You are dealing with RF frequencies and that can't really be pulled off without a well designed pcb. You can't really build a hand wired point to point circuit with IC chips at RF levels.

I can't imagine you can build an A/D for less than you can buy one. You can buy a decent unit for only a few hundred dollars. They pull this off with high volumes and surface mount circuits. You can't do this at home. It would be a fun learning exercise but the cost of your mistakes would quickly exceed the cost of a pro unit.
