You're right. The amp should'nt have anything to do with it *IF* you are using analog cables from your DVD player to your amp. That way, you'll be using the DAC in your DVD player which obviously supports the 96k. If you are using a single digital cable from the DVD player to the amp, you would then be utilizing the DAC in your amp and only using the player as a transport. If the NAD does not support 96K, you would not reap the high rez benefits using a digital cable.
