I have owned the version with the cherry wood side panels now for about 2 years. I dont think it is the MKII but I am not sure. However, I would not even consider selling this to try any new version as this player fits in my system like a match that is meant to be. You can see my system in my profile. The player is very musical with excellent bass extension. It is warm and non fatiguing. If your system is neutral or even a little bright, this player should be a great match. I have tried many of the other popular hi end players and none has stayed with me as long as the Lector. I wont mention the players here I have used in my home but if you like, feel free to e-mail me with any questions of them or any other questions you may have. I have nothing to do with Lector, just a very happy (finaly) owner.
