So Which CDP?DVD/Transport Use Output RAM Buffers?

Is anyone aware of which machines are using a RAM output buffer on the digital out portion of the machine? I understand that the Music Hall Maverick does, and so did a older universal Marantz player did.

Just recently obtained a Audio Magic Kukama DAC. Always loved the sound of this piece, and just looking to obtain a respectable transport for it. I am using a Phillips DVP-642 at the moment. Had an interesting experience with it.

Used a new Benchmark USB DAC and computer hard drive to play audio. Made a direct comparison to the Phillips DVD player. They sounded exactly the same. Some moments I thought one would sound slightly different, but I wouldnt swear to it. If I were ina DBX test, I woudlnt be able to tell the difference between the two units. Quite enlightening. I would expect a RAM buffered DVD or CD player to be just as good. Why not use the computer then? Well the Audio Magic has only co-ax in. However, it destroys the Benchmark piece in every way possible. Personaly, I think it's one of the hidden gems in hi fi.
