The UX-3 player may be discounted, at least rumor has it. This has the same internal guts as the X-03 w/ the additional video board. Now, you can turn off the video section completely so "theoretically" should get about the same sound as the X-03, though maybe not of the SE versionI've been thinking about using one as a transport for my Audiomecca DAC? The main thing about the UX-3/X-03 is that killer 30 pound transport mechanism?
If these go on sale does anyone have any thoughts about this player as a transport? The Soundstage review was killer and I like the fact that if possible somewhere down the road I could maybe stick a plasma screen outta the way on the wall and use the video section?
Either way this Esoteric stuff really has my attention w/ that transport mechanism.....then there's the possibility of getting either a plain, non-SE UX-3/X-03 and having that Audiocam Superclock 4 put in the darn thing which I read somewhere was a phenomenal match up?
