Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

it's for video

SDI (Serial Digital Interface) takes the digital video directly from the MPEG decoder, serializes it and sends it out of the player to a video processor. The video processor takes this data, deserializes it and does whatever processing is needed (deinterlacing, scaling, etc). The general idea is that the only processing that occurs in the player (with regard to video) is taking the 4:2:0 YCbCr 480i digital video data off of the disc and doing MPEG decoding to 4:2:2 YCbCr 480i.
