If only the world were that simple. Do a search here (and other places) for jitter.

If the bits are correct coming off of the disc (and they almost always are) the only errors left are timing errors which are (by definition) jitter errors.

Using a buffer and a PLL is only a jitter filter, not a jitter eliminator.

I don't want to rewrite a post on jitter once again so for more details do a search.
