One day the cd will be a thing of the past and content will be downloaded. DOing away with the physical disk will solve many of the problems the tweaks adress.It is already started to happen.
And IMHO you can create a pc based system that while not a panacea (there are tweaks there too) will definately get you closer and avoid such waxing and painting, etc. And if you are making black CDs you have done the heavy lifting of ripping your collection. The convenience is worth the effort all by itself.
