Re: CD recommendations

The Consonace CD120 Linear looks like a good choice for a guy who just wants a simple, musically pleasing CD player for a cool grand. It has been in production for a over a year now but I have only seen a few comments about it. If I were going to drop a grand on a new player I think that's would I would get.
There's not too many CD players on the new market to get excited over at this price point.

There's the used market too. Or a dac for a crappy old cd player. That doesn't sound like what you're looking for. Maybe someone else will chime in and make a better suggestion.
