Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

Re: Is Lavry DA10 genuinely an SRC or ASRC?

I'm going to have to look at this further before stating anything technically-speaking on the subject. I don't want to make false presumptions like I once did with that DSD discussion.

I find it curious that Lavry's discussion forum requires a user name and password just to merely look at the forum. It's also interesting that Dan seems to have avoided explaining his side of the story.

I will say I'll be shocked if what I listened to had an ASRC stage in it. For as I said, the symptoms I normally associate with ASRC were striking in their absence.

Question Ted- Do normal "synchronous" oversampling DACs use a clock oscillator whose frequency is actually a multiple of the media's base sample rate? (I could maybe look up some designs and do the math.) It seems like the premise of that whole discussion is the notion that a clock oscillator that is asynchronous with the media's base rate can only do asynchronous conversions. Thanks.
