Sugden CDMaster - aftermarket DAC???

Hi,

I have a Sugden CDMaster and am curious about trying an after-market DAC with it, especially since a fault has developed in one o/p channel which means sending it back for repair.I understand the transport section is a modified Philips CDM-12 unit which is well regarded.

I've read lots of good things about the Benchmark DAC-1 and Stello DA220 but can't get to audition either, although I could get the DAC-1 via internet on a 30 day refund.

Any experiences or views??
