Mission DAD 7000 CD Player

Back in 1986, I bought a Mission DAD 7000 CD player. At the time, it was one of the best (musical) CD players made, based on a Philips design, and another CD player based on this design was one by Meridian.

I still have the player in my mothball collection. I am so impressed with the unit's ruggedness, high-quality construction, that I hate to part with it because it seemingly has yet so much more to deliver, yet I can't get the unit to take or read a CD. I've been told that the laser is apparently worn out, which is why it won't read a disk. I've tried in the past to locate a repair facility (without success, even from Mission) to get the unit repaired.

Can anyone suggest a repair shop or technician who has experience/access to parts with working on a unit like this, and where they might be located? I'm in Northern Virginia, and have pretty much exhausted the likely sources in my area, such as Music Technology in Springfield. Thanks!
