Wadia Viability (Invest in a new player or look elsewhere?)

Hi All,
I'm in the market for a new digital front end. In the past I had a Wadia 27ix and 270se transport. Since I'm a complete fool I sold it a while back and am now really missing it.
I'm considering picking up a new (to me) Wadia player and am somewhat concerned about Wadia's viability as a company. Although their products are built like tanks there are a number of parts in the transport section that will fail eventually and I'm worried that Wadia may not be around to support the product.
Does anyone here have any insight into how Wadia is actually doing?
Also, does anyone here have any first-hand experience with the 581 in comparison to the 861se? I'm hearing mixed reviews on the new player. Since I'm lacking a local dealer I'm not able to even listen to the 581 at this point.
