Re: analogue sounding DAC

Hey Bill,

It sounds like it wasn't your Silverline's after all, just like I said ;) I'm assuming this is after you've switched to your new speakers that you are still having this issue?

Again like Paul & Lummy have said - Having experience with many Creek players... what you are describing just doesn't match with any setup I've heard any Creek source in.

I was thinking there is something you may want to try - and that's stripping your system back down to its basics. Take EVERYTHING 'extra' out, including all your power treatment, and listen to it for a bit in its most stripped down condition - and slowly add things back in.

You may find that something specific is causing the 'digital/hard sound' with this method.

If you do want to try a DAC the M24 is pretty sweet, and I think its a step up from the CD50mk2 and the CD50mk2 makes a very nice transport for it.

I hope, when Paul has more time, to run the CD50mk2/M24 head to head vs the Bluenote Stibbert which is the only player I've heard in this league, including the Cary 306 SACD and Gamut CD1.

Feel free to fire up some more e-mails to me when you have time Bill,

Nathan
