Which seemed very suspicious at the time. A mediocre amplifier which was given outrageous praise by a reviewer not prone to such praise.Since then, I'm found AHC to be a very solid reviewer, if a little dull. He does not usually make many fine differentiations in his sonic descriptions. A case in point was of the HRX turntable where he basically said it was quiet and uncolored and your cartridge has more to do with it. Roy Gregory, for example, gives more more detailed descriptions -- like when he found the Rockport Sirius III lacking in ways compared to the Blue Pearl or Continuum.
Have you seen this guy on the news? He's very consistent with his writing style.
