Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

Hi Bill,

Apparently you have put up a system very carefully. I can't pin point on anything about your system since I am not familiar with most of them. The last thing that I can think of is your sensitivity with digital sound. I am not joking. I have several customers who are very sensitive with digital sound that they can get headache after several minutes CD listening played by inadequate CD players. Even for myself, I can get ringing if the CD reproduction is inadequate but the Creek never gave me that.

Now, contrast to some people said, I think you may want to consider upsampling DAC. The upsampling DACs try to smooth the sound out and make them more analogue like. I have the P1A/P3A combo which sounds even more analogue than the Clearaudio turntable that I have. I know some posters here will disagree (I am waiting for Todd here). However, the upsampling also may be too polish for some listener (like Nathan) and lose some musical involvement (or directness that I call it).

You may want to try out the Monarchy M24 that Nathan has or upgrade your CDP. But please don't go sideway about your CDP. Go straight to the top and I am sure Nathan will tell you which one it is.

Lastly, I don't recall the CD50Mk2 has toslink.
