Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

Re: I think KevinfF might just have more idea about audio than you give him credit.

No problem, although if the quality of audio reproduction was dependent purely on jitter the Audio Note digital sources would have you running for the hills to bury your ears in the sand.

Fortunately that isn't the case in my experience and you'll find that people who opt for Audio Note equipment tend to do so after hearing most of the competition, most of which most probably 'better' based on the objective measurements we've been assured are the 'correct' parameters to evaluate equipment.

After walking around the various demonstrations at the Manchester Sound and Vision Show this weekend I'm as convinced as I ever was that something has gone wrong somewhere.

I will mention that I was interested in the Squeezebox you mention for the living room system and made a point of visiting the room it was displayed in, but after 10 minutes waiting the exhibitors in their wisdom still hadn't actually demo'd what the Squeezebox sounded like, so I left.
