There have some posts recently about DVD players that introduced gaps into recordings of "live events" or digital media where no deliberate silences are intended. Classical Music and Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon are other examples. In the Wiki pages describing gapless playback, they say that the CD format can play gapless "naturally" without any special undetakings on it's part. This is a well-known phenomenon in MP3 playback due to the compression and the assumption of silence at index points. It seems to be something that is not checked very carefully in chipsets(Zoran, MediaTek,Sigma and ESS) supplied in many DVD players.Question:
How many of you have noticed the incorrect playback of CDs intended to have gapless playback ? What CD/DVD player are you using ?
