The SD-4990 (or SD-K860) is the next model up that adds video upcoversion (potentially improved resolution for existing DVD), SACD and DVD-A to the mix. Not sure if the chipset is still by Zoran and/or the gapless playback. The magic is in the drive, chipset and output stage...so the 4990 is a datapoint that needs to be explored.PeAK
