Using DAC for TV/DVD Audio, the x curve

Hi,

My digital cable box has an RCA output that can be configured for PCM out. I've hooked up a few DACs.

They sound too bright. (The audio outs of the cable box sound fine.)
I recall something about dolby surround and a high freq roll off...

I found the x curve, used to compensate for large vs small venues. Flat to 2k and then rolling off at 3 db/oct.

Have you compensated for this? If so, what is a good implementation?

Cheers,
Jeff
