Re: DVD players - audio quality

Not really, but they are not bad either. Don't expect the same playback quality of Redbook CDs on a DVD player as on the better CD players. The new DVD players do sound better than the older typical CD players and of course the older DVD players though. High end CD players still have a comanding lead there. If you need a DVD player first, you might start out with a nice one that won't break the bank and see how you like it. Then you can save up for a better CD player and by having both, you will not put as many hours on either.
