I have this unit and it's been modded twice by Richard Kern in Oregon with great results. I have a Lavry DA-10 which is an excellent DAC but I've not even tried it with the Sony.
(I use an Intel Mac Mini with an optical audio out to the Lavry into my system.)For the money, the Lavry has been killing all comers. But you have to know that the DAC will not improve SACD. That's why I went with the mods, because it improved everything.
