you need something better than apollo, something that has an ability to communicate an emotional content of music, not just bits and 0s and 1s. apollo, good as it is, is just not enough.you need at least $1.500 to $2.000 to find a good EMC-1 but it is worth the amount.
other options would be heavily modified stock players or some clever combination of a transport and a DAC - in this case the best for your needs would be altmann atraction if you can bear its lack of package.
