Let me just first say is that I have no vested interest in what I am going to say. I just wanted to share some thoughts with you, if I may!I have been a believer in the NOS DACs out there. I even modded the Lite DAC AH bypassing the stock output stage and going from the DAC chip right to the output RCA's with 2.0 coupling caps of choice. I further advanced on the sound by making it battery powered with a sealed lead acid battery.
I then went to the Zhaolu DAC with the upgraded DAC chip and opamps. That sounded great as well.
I then used an Altmann DAC and an Audio Note 4.1X.
All I can say is get theis other version of a Zhaolu DAC with a mod from Oritek Audio. It is by far the best sounding DAC in its price league and then some. Immediately right out of the box is sounded unbelieveable but after using it for a few hours it got even better. I can't wait until it is totally broken in.
