I don't seem to like PoW very much - the variants seem to impose a bit of "haze" over the music that I don't like.

Waves also imposes a bit of grittiness but sounds a bit more pleasant than PoW and less "artificial" than UV22.

I think the main difference between L1,2,3 etc. are sophistication of the algorithms. L2 tends to be single band, but L3 can be multi-band.

I tend to use L2 (with all options turned off) as a "vanilla" peak limiter during recording and mixing, and L3 for final mastering.

I'm waiting for Waves to release 64-bit versions of their effects once Vista becomes entrenched.
