Hi,I've posted here a few times concerning problems with the upgraded 99-CDP. Having spent a year and many $$$ in shipping I finally received a replacement player from Quad. This new unit has functioned absolutely flawlessly, even playing a few discs that are so badly scratched that I'd long ago written them off. Sound is identical to the upgraded unit. The Quad transport seems to be like some others in that occasional "rebooting" is required. Bottom line -- I'd think twice about having an old player upgraded but would not hesitate to buy new.
