Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

Re: Any thoughts on a Tascam 750?

I've had the previous model (CD-RW700) for years and aside from one trip back to Montebello it has operated flawlessly. It makes superb CDR copies from CDs, vinyl, and tapes, but is not the most intuitive machine around. Once you master its capabilities and quirks, though, you'll be pleased.

As a PLAYER, it pretty much sucks, but as a TRANSPORT it is really fine. I'm using it with an Ack dAck 2.0 DAC and prefer the sound of this combo to my Sony XA777ES SACD/CD player (on Redbook discs, of course).

You can download an owner's manual -- I forget where, but Google the model number and I'm sure you'll be able to find it -- and get a better fix on just what this unit can do. Good luck, Dave
