Rega Planet or Sony DVP s7000 for Transport

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

I am using a Sony DVP S7000 as a Transport with a Benchmark Dac and I have a chance to get into a Rega Planet for about $300.
Will the Rega be an upgrade or a sideways move?
The Sony has a rep. for being a desent Transport for what it.
Should I wait a bit more and save some $$ for something else or pick up the Rega.
