Hi friends,
It's my first foray into external DACs and I'm fortunate enough to have these two goliaths relatively near me geographically and within my budget of $600 and below contenders.I'd really like to try these two because I can take the source a Pioneer DV59 to both audition sites. I know it's apples and oranges but I'd like further input from anyone and everyone that's had experience with either or both.
On top of that, I'm torn between whether or not to go tube or solid state DAC since I'm a full tube rig (pre and amp) already.
Can there really be too much of a good thing? i.e. too many tubes in the rig? I'd like to keep things dynamic but not "in your face" and I think I may have found that with the two possibilities.
The one other DAC I'm looking at is a PT P3A level II Modwright unit.
Please pour on any opines...
Quicksilver Remote line stage Pre
Anthem Amp 1
Sony 999es/Pioneer DV59 as the transport. (My goal is to only use one)Thanks to any and all in advance!
Angelo
