Re: getting the best out of Audio Aero 24/192 mk.2 cd player

The Capitole's (MK2 and Reference) have pretty high output at max volume (odB) of around 5V. A setting of -6dB will get you to 2.5V (a bit above normal CD player spec output) and -10dB gets you to around 1.5V (a bit lower than nomral) which is a good level to drive most moderate gain preamps. I generally use -10dB or -12dB when using the Capitole with our Joule LAP-150 preamp.

In the end, when using the Capitole's with preamp, the volume level output that works best generally depends on the rest of the system. Some people may find -6dB works great and others may need to go to -15dB or more to get the best use out of the volume control on thier preamp.
