getting the best out of Audio Aero 24/192 mk.2 cd player

Dear all,
I recently got my hands on a audio aero capitole 24/192 mk2, and have several questions about them: First, is there a difference listening s-ended as opposed to balanced? second, the output levels of the player - should it be at 0db or is there a more appropriate level I should set the internal volume control at? Is it worthwhile getting the SE upgrade? Thanks again
