ABliss:The remote, if it works at all, will work only after you've manually turned the Jolida ON. The ON/OFF button on the remote then only toggles the unit to either the STANDBY mode or the ON mode.
You cannot see the LED light as you press the buttons even if it's working. However, if you have a digital camcorder, aim the LED at the lens and you should see the LED light when looking at the camcorder's monitor. If it lights, then the deck is as fault. When I worked for a big box electronic store, we did this to test customers' VCR, TV and other remote controls. The eye can't see it, but for some reason, the camera can.
BTW, just curious. What features were you looking for that the remote didn't have?
