Re: Best sounding CD changer that you know of?

Greetings Sylvian;

Ill agree with NewStevo in regards to his sony as I also use several cdpcx400s as transports with the added benefit of a Monarchy 24/96 dip for added jitter reduction with re-clocking of the signal. So - for $249 for the dip and $200-300 on the jukebox {NEW} these make great combinations when used with a good DAC.

This next critical stage is where I felt the investment would better serve me. I'm using this transport setup with a Kora Heremes 24/192 tubed dac to get terrific results, granted Ive also tweaked out my DAC with nos Mullards, tube-rolling, also a transparent powercord along with a glass toslink [- very significant changes over plastic fiber at frequency extremes- ] from my Sony as my digital interface along with Transparent digital, and Transparent ultra rcas that just work well together.

Now these items cost some serious coin but all changes were clearly audible, perhaps someday ill try a new transport as Ive posted this same question and have had some terrific advice stating that the transport is sometimes a bigger difference in perceived changes than different dacs when switched in and out.

But when I sit down to listen all analysing of my system tends to drift out, always a good sign, and is replaced with satisfaction, and as we all know; a lack of satisfaction, is the main culprit behind upgrading most of the time the other being curiosity so in my mind this transport combo offers;

1. Lots of music at the push of a button.

2. Ability to group different genres of music in blocks ie. Classical, Jazz, Rock ect..

3Ability to daisychain and go up to say in my case 1200 cd capability with three digital inputs.

4. Quality transport for the money.

Regards /// Tim W...
