A portable CDP may be the place for you to look. I have an iRiver IMP-550 that fills all of your criteria.
It plays MP3's burned onto a CD-R.
It has a mini wired-remote with an LCD display.
It has a 1/8" line out jack that you could run to RCA jacks with the proper adaptor from the Shack (or elsewhere).
It comes with an AC adapter.
I think this model has been discontinued, but they have others that might do it for you.
Just a thought.... YMMV
