Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

Re: Help me downsize without loosing quality/performance

Maybe sell the 588 and get one of the DVD players that are suggested here - Toshiba, etc.. as a transport and grab a used stand-alone DAC that others here recommend. I recently got a used 1.3 ack! dAck! off Agon for a good price, and using it with a DVD player with optical-out - it has a very nice analogue sound to it thru my vintage tube amp. Then if you want to get into vinyl, that type set-up shouldnt bite your wallet too bad, and you never know, may sound jus as good as whatcha got? I know I am happy with mine, and dont regret trying it one bit. I do want to try and snag a vintage CDP to try as a carrier - jus to try it out, its the Kyocera DA-710cx - kinda hard to find tho - it has digital-coax out tho.

Cheers and let us know what you decide...
Nate
