Coming a bit late to the party here but you should check out the new dCS one box player - link here :http://www.dcsltd.co.uk/products_audiophile/P8i-CD-1000.jpg
It can drive a power directly if you so wish and apparently gives 80-90% of the performance of the whole dCS stack at a fraction of the price - still epxsnive though at around $ 14K -
