I have an ARC CD3 MK 2 and it does not get as hot as yours is described. Perhaps you want to send it to an authorized repair to have checked or email ARC for comment.No to the fan. This machine is made not to vibrate. Your fan will cause vibration which will interfere with the quality of an outstanding CD player.
