What's the next step up after Rotel RCD1072?

Hi Folks,

I currently have a Rotel RCD1072 that sounds very nice and I was wondering what the next level would be before I see an appreciable difference. My music tastes vary quite alot (from crappy pop recordings, heavy metal to jazz, instrumental and classical). I don't care for the new formats too much either (SACD or DVD-Audio) and am, for now, staying in red book CD land. I have a Sony SACD player that does quite well anyway but I never use it. From experience, I can say that the Meridians have always intrigued me but every time I've heard them they've sounded dry and a little lifeless (it could have been the system they were in). The Arcams have ALWAYS sounded very good if maybe even a little too revealing. I just don't know where to look next...

Thanks!

Jeff
