Re: Teac VRDS-25 or Meridian 500

My experience with the Teac VRDS-25XS vs the Meridian 508.20 as
CD players differs somewhat from Rodney's.
I found the Teac a lot smoother and had much more convincing bass than the Meridian.
The Meridian was arguably more detailed.
They both handled scratched discs with no problem.
These differences could very well be due to the differences in DAC
(I did not try them as transports only).
In Japan the Meridian is much more expensive so it was a very easy
decision for me to take the Teac.
To me it's a question of how you like your music presented, check'em both and then choose.
