Well, after reading some posts about this stuff (well, the 14-3 anyway...), I decided to get some at my local Home Depot. $12 for two 6-foot runs.
Verdict?
I love 'em! I was using CAT5 (Chris VH style), but had a problem with capacitance when I upgraded to a new power amp. The difference that I notice in the HD-14 stuff is actually a noticable bit of midrange coloration. A bit of oompfh added to male vocals and the corresponding frequency bump in bass lines. But to be quite honest... I like the coloration...
If, after burn-in, imaging tightens slightly, the coloration fades JUST a tad, and high end extends a bit further: these cables are a definite keeper!
Give 'em a try, but they may not be for everyone.
