Why don't more manufacturers eliminate holes on power cord plug prongs?

Interconnects, speaker wire, power cords. Ask the Cable Guys.

PS Audio on their new power cords have eliminated the holes on their prongs basically stating that they are a carry over from times past and no longer needed.
On the surface it seems to make a lot of sense and intuitively would appear to be a better design.
